Why has "Let's Play" been closed?

[DavidWoner]

so yeah. went to go post in lets play a few minutes ago and noticed it was closed. i didnt see anything in the announcements forum, and i think the closure of a thread that long-standing and popular warrants an explaination. Was it becoming too active? Was it closed because a mod got annoyed by it? Just, why?
