This isn't going to be a whiny post. Just in case you are wondering.:p
Who has had their cube stolen/broken by a non-cuber? I know it isn't just me.

Share your stories.

Mine are:
One cube that I bring to school everyday, I dropped and broke the center piece. I glued it back on, and brought it to school the next day. I randomly gave it to a sophomore during one of my classes, (again, as usual) and he tried to pop my cube. By a stroke of stupidity, it was on the one side that I broke. So pieces fly everywhere, and the teacher gets angry. (As usual). I was told to put it away, and he didn't care. Even saying "Why do you even bring that to school?" (to get through your stupid lectures that mean nothing)
I fixed it again, but its fragile.

And today, on the last day of school, I decided to bring my Square-1 to school. I lay it on my other cubing friend's desk, and one of the... shall I say idiots... in our class picks it up. I didn't care, I thought I would get it back by the end of the class as usual. But apparently he put it back, but I couldn't find it. So as we take our final exam, apparently our teacher sees a cube like thing in the back of the room (right next to where the idiot sits) but doesn't pick it up. Later he tells me about it, and brings me to where he saw it, but its gone.
The idiot denied taking it.

So now I have a fragile 3x3 and stolen Square-1.

You all?

Well my first rubik's cube was stolen, but I left it in my backpack, and i had also left chocolate from halloween in there too. I don't misss that stolen cube much...

Ohh, and as far as lubes go, chocolate is definetly not good.

My stackmat timer got stolen. No real story i was just cubing and i had a backpack full of cubes, lube, and my timer. I went to get a drink and my timer was gone.

Oh and never let non-cubers use your magics. My magics have been broken twice by non-cubers.

i was a bit drunk in a pub [as us english people always are.... (!)] and was cubing. some guy came up to me and said he could do it, then used some odd method and did it in about 2 minutes. i was pretty impressed and so let him play with my megaminx. he really didn't like me giving him any hints so he just sat in the corner, without speaking, and used it. i was even worse off when i left to go home and so i thought i may as well let him hang onto said megaminx and then he could give it back sometime. he is a maths lecturer at my university, so i figured i would be able to hunt him down.

basically, i couldn't. i still haven't got my megaminx. i even added him on facebook.

The only cube that I'm actually convinced was stolen was my old type D at US nationals last year. It was a really good cube too and I am pretty sure that if I didn't have to use a bad cube, I would have made it to the second round :/.

I also forgot a 2x2 at one competition. That's really it that I can think of. Both quite annoying.

One guy last week took my cube apart (violently) and decided to stress test the core, thus breaking it and requiring me to get a new one from C4Y.

I was at my school store (they sell candy bars and such) and I had my sq-1 in my hand (actually under my arm... and unstickered) and I put it down or something to get my candy bars. Somehow, it turned up 2 days later in one of the study hall rooms across the school (my school is more like a line, it literally was on the other side of the school) in someone's backpack. It was missing a cap, but I was just happy to get it back... The cap has never been found.

I was playing with my magic showing off to my 2nd cousin. I was doing around 2 or sub-2 solves, when another person (my dad's coworker's daughter) decides "Hey, I can do that" (quoted later) she asked me to borrow it, and I let her use it. I swear to god I've never seen a Magic bend that way... at least none of the strings broke... I took it totally apart and restrung the whole thing...

I want a suitcase for my cubes... looks so professional.

Someone in my class had been watching me cube(call him Bob), and stole an edge piece while I was talking to a friend of mine(Not Bob). I told the principal that the Bob stole it. The Principal said that Bob swore he didn't have it. I had two people tell me Bob had it. I went back to the principal, with the names of the people who said Bob took it. Bob said he didn't take it but knew who had it. He came back 3 minutes later with the edge piece. Bob lied straight through the predicament, I know Bob had it because I heard two people tell me they saw the piece before I even told them it was missing.

I lend my cube to someone in class before and later he denied ever getting it.
He was set out of class for not paying attention and I didn't get the chance to ask the cube before he was gone.

But since I have over half my classes with him, I just grabbed his bag the next class (he was having big problems with it and insisted he didn't have my cube).
And of course, it was just in there.
He claimed it to be his own cube but he broke it a day before and he didn't have cubesmith stickers (while I do).

A friend at school got his cube missing (was taken out of his bag with nobody noticing) and never seen it back.
This is why I usually keep my cube at the bottom of my bag, harder to take.
And people usually don't steal from me as I'm not the kind of person to take it lightly once I know who it was.
