Whenever my 2x2 pops it becomes better

My cube is a Valk 2 M with weight 5 cubicle lube. Whenever I pop it and have to take some corners out to fix the edge pieces, it feels a lot faster for a while. Anyone else experience this? How do I keep this better state forever without having to pop my cube (usually it gets a bit slower once I go to sleep and wake up the next day)

you may have overlubed the cube. try wiping away all the lube and putting in only a little bit
