Hi,

At the moment I am using a LBL method and have a PB of 1 min 17. Im using :

Cross on top
Corners
Flip
Second layer
Orient Edges
Permutate Edges
Permutate Corners
Orient Corners
(The method by pogobat on youtube / the one that comes with a rubik's cube packet)

When should i move on, what should i try next, how do i go about doing that. I really want to progress.

Btw : I am currently using a cube which moves okayish but locks up when moving it fast sometimes, ill be getting a new cube very soon though.

Also, i have tried keyhole, but not got fast at it yet, should i continue with it?

That is definatly a viable way to go, but I might suggest continuing to improve on your begginners method before you try something even harder. Usually it is suggested to get your time between 45-60 seconds before moving on.

What kind of cube are you using? Does it have any silicon in it? Have you taken it apart and washed it since you got it?

Its a no name cube from a shop, i have washed it and i use vaseline (petrolium jelly) as i haven't got any silicon.

I was wondering, the method i use has a very slow method for solving the last layer, (pogobat/dan browns method, the one that comes with a rubiks cube). Should i learn a faster beginners method for last layer, such as olle, ollc, pllc, plle ?

Well, if you are going to use another method, I would suggest using mine, I will find it here on the site and post it for you, or give you the thread as I have many tips on the same thread.

There you go, just scroll down a post or two for my method, then keep rading for more details and tips. Also, feel free to message me if you still need help, or if you want to move into a harder method such as F2L at the same time, then an simplfied version of fridrichs with multiple versions of algorithms (I wrote a few versions to see which I would be faster at).

Also, I would suggest taking your cube apart, washing it, and buying some silicon to use. Vaseline may cause stickers to fall of faster, and I have been told it may increase some wear on the inner parts of the cube.

Ok.. I've stated this a couple of other places, but using that exact method I can average high 20s. The moves are tiny bit different, but I still use those steps. My LL is about 10-15 seconds non lucky as opposed to 5 sec with full fridrich.

I had a look but couldnt understand the different steps. ill have another look

I have found a method which is more commonly used a s lbl than pogobats.

the last layer consists of

OLL
PLLC
PLLE

It uses 4 algorithms that arew different and at the moment im gettin slower times with this method (1:30-1:40 ish) Is this because im not used to the method or should i stick with the method i learned off pogobats video.

Nice, I finally found that CRC spray everyone has recommended for like 3 bucks at ACE hardware, I have the ACE brand as well. I am stocked for a long time now haha. Good luck, post updates whenever you would like :-) I can also give you some more shortcuts for that method if you need help, or help you with a new method when you feel like trying something harder.
