Yamahammer08 here, how's everyone doing. Here's a little background. I first got a rubik's cube (just a store bought rubik's brand 3x3 and a 4x4 shortly after) about 4 years ago I think. I never really got into it then, I only learned the beginner method and only solved for a few weeks before I started college and I didn't take my cubes with me. Happened to find my cube about 2 or 3 weeks ago. I tried solving it and couldn't remember how to do more than the cross lol Now in that short time I bought a few more puzzles: a LanLan 2x2, Dayan Guhong Lone Goose 3x3, Shengen FII (love the feel of it), Dayan+MF8 4x4 (just started messing with it, can't get it set up right for the life of me, its soooo slow and mushy), eastsheen 5x5, and vcube 6. I also started using F2L and learned the seven 2 look oll algs. Haven't started tackling the pll algs yet because school takes up most of my time. Downloaded a timer yesterday and I've got 86 solves on it. Average: 1.16.08 Best: 46.12 Best Avg 5: 53.21 Best Avg 10: 1.03.88
I'd say I'm progressing nicely, but my F2L times are really slowing me down, probably averaging 40-50 seconds
That was a lot longer than I was planning so I'll stop rambling now. Lookin forward to getting to know some of you!

welcome to speedsolving! :)

your F2L times are slow right now since you just started using it, it will get faster when you get more comfortable with it

btw: simple way to avoid flaming: Dont ask about how to get faster without much detail, and use The one answer question thread for simple questions that doesnt need a new thread
and also remember to use the search bar

and again, welcome to the forums :P

Thanks for the welcome, and thanks for the advice. I've belonged to many forums so I know the drill about searching for stuff first :p I'm always worried about looking stupid so I do plenty of research before i ask questions lol
And yeah, I figured the only way to get better from here is to practice practice practice, I assume as I learn the cube better my times will drop. Never gonna come close to Feliks, but I can try right? haha
