I use ortega (tutorial:http://www.blueknightcubing.com/2x2.htm) and after about a week I was averaging 10 seconds. there are only a handful of algs and it gets the job done pretty quickly.

I do a layer then do OLL / PLL. I dont know how you call that. Is it LBL?
anyway, I averge ~6 seconds sometimes more sometimes less.
