What is the next hardest cube after a 3x3x3?

A short list of puzzles that are IMO slightly harder to figure out than the 3x3x3:
- 4x4x4
- 5x5x5
- Megaminx
- Domino
- Helicopter Cube
- Void Cube
Of course, being familiar with the 3x3x3 would take a good chunk of the difficulty out of some of these.

I would consider the next hardest cube to mess with would be a latch cube, 10/10 difficulty,
So I guess ALL puzzles that are harder than the 3x3x3 would be 10/10 difficulty (i.e. equally difficult) on your scale?

no just the latch cube

chardison1980, your not making sense. Your being contradictory. Please explain why there is a need for this.

As already stated, the same concepts used for 3x3x3s are used to solve all of ther other cubes aswell, so are they really harder? If you have a very good understanding of the cube, no. As for a good step up from the 3x3x3, I'd recommend the void cube or megaminx as you solve them more similarily. I don't have a 5x5x5, but if parity is not possible on it, it could also be a good next cantadite. I'd learn it before the 4x4x4 unless you don't care about understanding parity and are fine with learning the long algorithms.

there is no LL parity on 5x5 and the rest of the odd layered cubes, but there is edge parity.

no just the latch cube
Logic:
1) latch cube is "the next hardest cube" after 3x3x3
2) latch cube is "10/10 difficulty"
3) 10/10 is the maximum difficulty
4) from 1), every cube harder than 3x3x3 is at least as hard as latch cube
5) from 2) and 4), every cube harder than 3x3x3 has at least 10/10 difficulty
6) from 5) and 3), every cube harder than 3x3x3 has exactly 10/10 difficulty

he was asking for something harder, im no cube pro or anything but out of everything from 2x2 upto a 5x5 it was easier for me to solve them then solve a latch cube, IE the latch cube is in my eyes the hardest cube out there right now. and I never said anything over a 3x3 is 10/10 difficulty just the latch cube.

if you want something BIGGER than a 3x3 get a 4x4

He said he wanted the next hardest. Not the hardest one out there.

I think the Helicopter cube would be much easier for a beginner to figure out than the 3x3. I agree with the rest though.

The hard part is memorizing them because I don't have a baseball-sized hippocampus like you, captain sarcasm.

They aren't that hard to memorize afterall Just repeat the alg until you can do it with your eyes closed. Then take a break for a couple of hours (you can cube, just don't perform the alg) Then repeat. It should be stuck in your head after a few repetitions (I usually need 2-4)
