[Help Thread] Wash pieces before lubing with Maru?

Hi. So, I bought a guoguan yuexiao approx 2 months ago and ive done probably around 600 solves. Unfortunately, the factory lube is seem to be wearing out as it turns to look like small white patches all around the pieces on the inside of the cube.So I just bought a Maru Lube off a local rubiks cube store(p.s they do not have any other lubes available) and I'm wondering if I should wash the pieces & wipe out all the factory lube before lubing it with maru, just lube it right away? Cause I've heard that maru lube doesn't really last long, I'm afraid that after wiping off the factory lube, my cube's turnings will be awful once the maru lube wears out in like 2 days or so, and I have to constantly rely on Maru and apply it every few days. Any advice?
