So I was a bit bored, and curious as to what the fastest times were for the winner in the final round of a competition this year. I compiled a small list of the top 15 results taken from scouring the WCA site. I put them in order starting with the fastest average:
Felix Zemdegs – Best/Average: 7.31/7.87 – Melbourne Summer Open 2011
Felix Zemdegs – Best/Average: 6.24/8.07 – Kubaroo Open 2011
Mats Valk – Best/Average: 8.02/9.09 – German Open 2011
Piti Pichedpan – Best/Average: 7.68/9.28 – Thailand Open 2011
Michal Pleskowicz – Best/Average: 9.00/9.35 – Bialystok Open 2011
Rowe Hessler – Best/Average: 9.06/9.46 – Park Ridge Open 2011
Rowe Hessler – Best/Average: 9.08/9.46 – Brown Cubing Day 2011
Mulun Yin – Best/Average: 8.91/9.47 – Xi'an Spring 2011
Cornelius Dieckmann – Best/Average: 7.52/9.49 – Aachen Open 2011
Kanneti Sae Han – Best/Average: 8.58/9.63 – Montpellier Open 2011
Dan Cohen – Best/Average: 7.59/9.69 – Captain's Cove competition 2011
Michal Pleskowicz – Best/Average: 8.03/9.83 – 3Mola Open 2011
Sebastian Weyer – Best/Average: 9.30/9.84 – GHS Ingenhovenpark Open 2011
Cornelius Dieckmann – Best/Average: 8.71/9.86 – Hamburg Open 2011
Giovanni Contardi – Best/Average: 7.75/10.02 – Italian Rubik's Cube Championship 2011
I've yet to go to a tournament, let alone compete, so I can't imagine the pressure a cuber must be under. I'm wondering what the fastest time/average will be at the worlds? Any thoughts? Sub or sup 10?
