Two auctions end today for my signed 7x7x7 Ball & Cubillusion puzzle transformations.
This is my transformation of an original V-Cube 7 puzzle. I made it completely by hand using a Dremel and sand paper to shape it. The stickers however are professionally made at Oliver's Stickers. The smallest are super glued on but there is a good chance that they will come off since they are so tiny. For this reason I have included an extra sticker set.
Please watch the video above before bidding. Although the puzzle works well, any ball shaped puzzle is frustrating to use. This is because you spend a lot of time lining things up before the next move. With a cube or virtually any other shape alignment is felt by your fingers as well as seen. On a ball it is only seen.
Movement / Quality
Good quality. Slightly stiff movement. It has been lightly lubed.
Appearance
Very good.
Construction
Custom made / Mod / Transformation.
Durability
The 8 tiniest stickers are likely to come off even with normal use. I use the strongest glue available.
The signature is protected with a clear covering.
My Cubillusion combines two main elements. The first is the optical illusion you get when looking at the puzzle from the right angle. The second is the weird shaped parts which block some movements. This makes it very tricky to solve.
Movement / Quality
Pretty good. Slightly stiff when moving layers between the arch which joins two adjacent corners together.
Appearance
Good. The unstickered areas look a little untidy in places.
Construction
Custom made / Mod / Transformation.
Durability
All custom made puzzles should be treated with care. The extended pieces on this could snap off if treated roughly.
The signature is protected with a clear covering.
