tips for getting faster at 4x4 please?

Hey, I average around 4 minutes or so with 4x4 (or that's what I think it was), but then my 4x4 broke. This was quite a while ago, and last night I ordered a mini qj 4x4 from popbuying.

I'm probbably going to focus on 4x4 for a good while, so I could use some pointers.

lol yeah I was also in the process of learning 4x4 bld, so I know a little about commutators. I could always learn more though! lol

try double edge pairing intuitively....it helps a lot, and itll bring up your F2L time by working on recognition

Try doing just normal 3x3 solves without inspection and learn advanced pairing methods. When your at the stage of 4 minutes on a 4x4 you'll probably knock off 1 minute or so in a couple of months, you dont necessarily learn more algs or methods just practice non-stop...

Look ahead during edges has always been problematic for me. I'd practice that.

me personally i dont know why i start with a bad method on every cube and work my way to a good one, i started with sandwhich, reduction, k4, now some random hybrid thing, but it works for me so i might stick with it
