Timer for linux

I've searched already from internet, but i can't find any timers made for linux systems. I'm currently using Ubuntu and cubemania.org/cubetimer.com timers but i'm requesting someone to make linux offline timer. (for example if i go to cottage spending weekends)

I don't know any native linux timers, but what about JNetCube or cct? They both run on Java.

Must say that ypu answered very very fast.
JNetCube just show grey box but didn't work from that point... going to try cct..

JNetCube works perfectly on my system (Linux Mandriva 2008). Perhaps Java is not properly installed on yours ?

Jnet works fine for me, but CCT cannot connect to the stackmat. ALSA issues. Even tried running it as root, but cant seem to get the input. Any leads?

What distro are you using? What shows up in the dropdown for sound devices?

I also had to click on "Microphone capture" in the sound volume widget under Gnome and also select the right microphone under "Options"

I am on Ubuntu 8.04, running KDE 3.5.

It's annoying that you can't take a screenshot with menus open...

Here are my settings as best I can capture. The sound widget I'm talking about is what pops up when you double click on the volume icon in your panel.

In my CCT settings I have three choices that aren't greyed out, one says [plughw 1,0] which I'm using, the other says [plughw 1,1], but I don't know what the second is good for, I chose the working one by trial and error.

In the volume control under "File" -> "Change Device" I have 6 options, I'm using #2 which is "Intel ICH (Alsa mixer)", this is the only one that populates the dialog with all the controls you see in the image.

It took me on and off about an hour of fiddling to figure out what settings worked, the key was the switch and options settings in last two images.

I finally got is working. I had to change the audio device from ALSA to OSS. Mic volume in that widget just controls the volume and gain of the mics. They don't effect the input to CCT.

Glad you worked it out. If you notice, I actually have my microphone muted, but the microphone capture allows CCT to access the input.
