The Wii Rainbow Road Cubing Challenge!

In my opinion auto-accelerate is completely useless(as well as smart steering) so sure.

Well, I can use it at the start of rainbow Road, where is completly right, so I can reach far, where in Wii I can't, so what do You Say?

I tried on Wii, but I couldn't even get first without cubes, soo...
I did without auto-accelerate on switch, and got 4 cubes (in the photo I'm 4th, because I played a game before, but I was 1st, trust me)

I think I'm gonna try this again this weekend and see if I can get 7 cubes. I will also try to record it, but I don't know how good it will look or if it will work at all. Since it didn't take me more than about an hour to get 6 cubes, I think 7 could be doable for me, but I might have to do some new strategies to get there.

Good luck beating J-perm! Are you doing OH solves while steering or just normal solves?

Thank you! I'm gonna experiment with it, for my 6 cube attempts I did 2H solves at the start of lap 1 and 2 while sitting at the first item box. If I am going to try OH solves while steering I will need to practice OH steering a lot, or maybe use the Wii Wheel for easier control, since I used the Classic Controller. With the added cube I might need to do at least one solve OH to make up for the extra time it would add.

Quick suggestion- it won't save much time but you could try starting a solve in the period of time after you fly through the star(not sure what this is called, but the giant star shaped wheel looking thing that you fly through on each lap) as in that brief time you don't have to touch the controller. (This will save about 3 seconds a lap).

Edit- After watching the J-perm video it looks like he does this, so you probably know about it.

Yeah, I could maybe do the 7th cube fully in the cannon, or at least mostly, I will definitely try out a lot of different Strats that I can think of.

I'm currently de-rusting as I haven't played MKW in a few months, but after a little bit I will begin attempts and I am at least trying for a successful 6 cube attempt to get video proof and tie the WR.

Second attempt in and I got 7 cubes and 3rd place!
Super close to my goal, so I should be able to get it within an hour at the most.
Feel free to give me feedback on the setup since it is not the best.

Then I just got another attempt where I fell off on lap 3 after failing a pow dodge, then getting second, costing me the win.
I'm also uploading this too, so check back once it's finished uploading.

Roughly 19 attempts in and I haven't gotten a better run yet, I'm gonna take a break for a little bit since its 9pm right now, I might do some more attempts tonight, but I'm gonna be doing a lot of attempts tomorrow.

I finally got it! It only took 3 attempts today! Time was a 3:29.xxx, unfortunately the angle was bad and I didn't get the very top of the screen so the time is out of frame, and I got every cube solved before lap 3 which was good pace for me!

I tried this today with one cube(because I'm so bad at Mario Kart). After a few tries I managed to get a successful attempt in 3:32. Pretty bad, but i'm happy to manage at all since I rarely play.

I hope to become the first person (and consequently wr holder) to solve some cubes whilst coming first in Mario Kart World's Rainbow World.

Thinking about going for 8 cubes soon.
I've improved by almost a second over the past year, and I think I could do it. I would probably need to do some more OH solving, but I've been thinking about how I can get 8 cubes on and off over the past year, and I might have some ideas, but they'll have to wait until I can start attempts.
Though I haven't played much MKW over the past year, I would need to do some derusting before I can get back to attempts. It'll probably have to wait a few weekends since I have a comp this weekend, and I don't know if I will be derusted enough to go for it in 2 weeks. I'll also have to figure out a better way to record the game and the cubes, but I have some ideas, so that shouldn't be an issue either.

Just recorded a successful attempt at 8 cubes!
Improving upon my previous WR attempt at 7 cubes in 3:29.2, I got 8 cubes in 3:26.xx!
I'm currently working on getting it edited, and I should be able to post it sometime tomorrow.
