Hi! I've been a Cubing enthusiast since around 2013, and I've built a pretty decent collection! But over time, I slowly started collecting other brain teasers, too. By the end of 2019, I had made a tremendous shift in my hobbies and started to build and collect LEGO again.

Though the "dark ages" may have ended for one passion, they just began anew for cubing.

Since then, I've dipped my toes back into cubing only occasionally, having a cheap 3x3x3 sitting still on my desk for years.

Over the last couple of weeks, I started to explore the world of cubing again. I'm curious to see what has changed over the past few years.

I'm mostly interested in discovering and solving new puzzles and coming up with algorithms and solutions, rather than going fast.
Still, I am currently switching from what I remember of good old 2-look OLL/PLL to full OLL/PLL.

I bought some lego sets in the past few years but they keep making them more and more expensive for less and less. Last year or the year before I stopped buying lego entirely. Recently my latest hobby has been messing around with electronics (need a lot fewer parts and you can get them in bulk for cheap)

I fully agree. Fortunately, there are now competitors producing compatible bricks and elements of a very high quality, as well as much more interesting models that provide a challenging building experience for adults. Specifically, here in Germany, BlueBrixx provides some very impressive large-scale models, such as Burg Blaustein and the Astronomer series.

welcome to the forums!
is the lego Rubik’s cube in your pfp yours?
Hi! Yes, I modified an original Rubik's Cube, combining two of my favourite hobbies. I am currently thinking about getting another one that fits the Lego plates exactly so that I can add tiles and bandage it in a flexible way.

Z3cubing has made a bunch of these. Finding exactly the right size is the hardest part (without 3d printing that is)
