Hi.

I am wondering if anyone has read this book or can at least help with the solutions listed in the book.

The one I am having a rough time with is the 4x4x4 single edge flip algorithm listed on page 127. It shows an entire cube finished except for a single edge to be flipped. It says to do the following:

R2' then Fs R'' Fs' R2' Fs R'' Fs' R2' Fs R'' Fs' R2' Fs R'' Fs' R2'

I wrote it exactly as in the book except I used ' instead of the arrows that were drawn. I hope it makes sense.

So, as far as I can see this does absolutely nothing to flip an edge. Or am I missing something?

Can someone please help me out on this, or provide an alternate way of flipping a single edge without messing up any other cubes?

Thanks,

OK so converting the algorithm I listed to the proper notation, the new algorithm would look like this:

r' then S, R2, S', r', S, R2, S', r', S, R2, S', r', S, R2, S', r'

I have used r2 B2 U2 l U2 r' U2 r U2 F2 r F2 l' B2 r2 but it messes up other cubies that are already solved.

Can anyone shed some light on this one, or show me an algorithm that flips a single edge without messing up any other cubies.

Thanks,

Garry.

Oh I get it. Sorry I didn't pick up on that earlier.

So if I don't move the outer faces L or R, then those wont get messed up.

Hmm now I have to try that out.

Thanks.
