Ok, this is going to be the challenge of all challenges.

What you will need:
  • A Standard 3x3 Rubik's Cube (Preferably White) w/ Fluorescent CubeSmith Stickers
  • A Pair of 3D Glasses, red and cyan works best.

I'm sure you can guess what this will entail but I promise you will like it.
Take your Rubik's Cube with fluorescent stickers and scramble, you may 'hand scramble' or follow an on-screen scramble from CubeTimer.com etc. Next, take your red and cyan 3D Glasses and place them upon your face. Don't worry, everything will look strange but that's ok. When you look at your cube you will notice the colours look completely different, especially yellow, orange and green. These three colours in particular will look totally different and you will have a hard time differentiating between them.
As you get more confident why not share your times with us!

As a treat I will post some of the 3D images that I have made, it is vaguely cubing related but more Zeitgeist with a NES alongside it.
I'll post a link to a bigger one, the picture below is just an example although still works.

I did horrendously, I managed to get just over 1 minute 20 on my first attempt but then slightly improved. It's a bit like an Icon Cube, but harder.

No good for comp because you can easily cheat by looking with one eye at the time, then it is not hard at all.

But it is fun to do, I had a pair of 3D goggles with me at SOC 2008 that we used for "colour blindfolded cubing". Gunnar was doing an attempt - "this orange sticker looks red" he said and was pointing at a red sticker :P

Heh, I have like three pairs of 3D glasses lying around the house from watching Beowulf in 3D. Just go to a 3D movie(a palce that actually gives you the glasses to keep, of course) and you can get a few easily if you go with other people.

I shall try this later and see how hard it is!

Here's an even funnier idea:

Use the 3D glasses to MEMO the cube (for blindfold solving) -- you can't take them off until you're about to blindfold (in which you have to put the blindfold on first, THEN take the glasses off, by looking up or something), and solve it...

Wonder how much your head would hurt if you didn't practice with them normally... ;)
