So, I am an average 16 y/o guy from the Czech Republic and I have been looking for some new hobby for some while now since videogames stopped to entertain me. I then have noticed one friend of mine was solving a cube and I thought that it would be interesting to just give it a try. So I googled some stuff about it, watched some videos, bought my first cube and started speedcubing 15 may. I got quite passionate about it and I am solving whenever I have some spare time. So, I just wanted to know, how did you get to speedcubing and how were your first weeks? Right now, I have the best on one minute and average around 1:15, can do some slow f2l and trying to learn pll and oll. Do you think this is a good start?

Welcome to the speedcubing community! I'm sure you will improve as time goes on, coming from a 25sec/avg cuber, which is not really fast i think it's a good start for you, i'm glad you've learnt F2L so quick as well! I'd advise you to learn 2-look-OLL next, and slowly pick up the PLLs. As for F2L your speed will come with practice, but you can read about all of this if you just use the search bar on this forum or use our cubing wiki (speedsolving.com/wiki/)

As for when did I start cubing, it was over 4 years ago. I was 15, when during a lesson at school, one of my friends challenged me to solve the cube. Obviously, not knowing a thing about it, i failed, to which he responded by solving the cube in around 3 minutes. I was really impressed by his skill and the same day after school i got myself a 3x3 Rubik's brand cube, and after looking online and trying to understand a thing, eventually after around 2h, i've completed my first solve! The following week, i beat the guy who was showing off few days earlier, and I thought to myself, why stop there? Researched a bit more, learned a bit more, and my obsession with cubing has began, by the end of the year, i was known at school as the Rubik's Cube guy haha ;) It's been 4 years since woah!

But anyway, welcome to the community and good luck!
