Starcraft Players Anyone?

Does anyone here on Speedsolving play Starcraft?
I mean Starcraft: Brood War, like on ICCUP or anything. It would be really cool if there were other people on the forums that had the same hobbies I did.

I used to play on ICCUP before Starcraft 2. But, I only play SC2 now. I'm Diamond rank with 1100 points.

I have recently been getting into SC2, I play zerg because it is the best
I am in bronze league, sigh. I screwed up all the placement matches
Any tips on how I can get into a better league?

The only thing that the ranking system cares about is your wins and losses. Watch day 9 and start winning to get into higher divisions.

Most of the matches I lose are to stupid things like cannon rushes, or turtleing

I just got Starcraft 2 for Christmas. I'm currently working through the campaign. A few of my friends have suggested that I should start with protoss, is that what you guys would recommend?

Its really your choice, practice vs al with all the races and see which one you like

I've tried both SC1 and SC2 (but beta). I like SC1 a lot more. A few people I know play SC2 and I've watched them. It's a bit different it seems, the style, the gameplay, a few strategies... Either way I haven't played SC1 for over a year and SC2 since beta ended.

I have SC2. I'm platinum, 45 wins 32 losses. Haven't played in a few months, though.
