What do you think will happen if you put a cube in a bucket of water over night?
Because i was letting my nephew play with my spare SS 4x4 and he threw up on it (Don't let babies have your cubes!!) and I'm too lazy to take it apart and clean it, I'm guessing the most that would happen is that the hardware will rust and stickers will come off.

First off, ew.

Secondly, unless you want your cube to smell like baby vomit from now on, I suggest that you take the cube apart and thoroughly wash your cube pieces in a bucket. It would be a lot more sanitary (and could possibly make your cube turn better, although that isn't guaranteed).

Lol, i didn't even want to touch it, but i did do a few solves while it was in the water to try and clean it a little better, but i think I'm just going to let it sit in the water tonight then thoroughly clean it tomorrow morning, I have another SS 4x4 V3 so it's not that big of a deal, but having a working spare never hurts

Take it apart and put it in a small tub, like an empty margarine container. Fill with hot water and a bit of dish soap, shake, rinse, repeat as needed. Towel the pieces dry as best you can, then let air dry for about 2 hours.

I know how to clean it, just wondering if the hardware will rust if left in water over night

I accidentally dropped my cube in my cereal a couple weeks ago. It took almost an hour to get it back to the way it used to but now it smells like dried milk.... Make sure you wash it with tons of soap and completely disassemble it. Let it dry overnight (I assembled my cube right away and it felt like I lubed it with water and it's heavier than before from the water).
