Be prepared, this is a long post lol.......
I know a lot of people would like for speedcubing to be in the Olympics, but what if it was an AAU sport instead?
IMO, I think that speedcubing would not be the best fit for the Olympics. There would be a lot of things we would have to do beforehand for it to be as entertaining for non-cubers as it is for us cubers. Also, there would be a bunch of regulations as to who could compete and their qualifications (like having a sub 6 average or a PR of under 5 seconds, kinda like the Rubiks All Stars competition).
AAU's event organzitions are also volunteer based, so it would perhaps be easier for a WCA competition to become an AAU associated.
AAU could bring more eyes to cubing, an maybe help us become more likely to go in the Olympics if that's still what we want.
Idk if this helps my argument, but sport stacking used to be in the Junior AAU Olympics I think.
Sorry for my long ramble, but that's just my thoughts
