Hello! I'm thinking about getting a dayan zhanchi, but before I get it I want to know how durable it is. Not the stickers, but the cube itself. Does the durability depend on the plastic color, or just the quality of the cube? Also, what is the durability of other speedcubes like it?

I've handled a lot of ZhanChis in the past. They are all very durable. Unless you abuse it you won't have to worry about it breaking. The color of the cube doesn't matter so much. Also, most of the popular speedcubes (Alpha, Dayan and Type F) are all pretty durable.

Thnks for the help. Could you give me a rough estimate of about how long they would last if used on a regular basis? Thanks again

My oldest Zhanchi is somewhere near 5 months old now and it's still kicking, albeit, gummy thanks to Lubix.

Just to add, I typically do somewhere near 50 solves per day with it.

My first guhong suffered a lot (Newb trying to mod a cube, wrong lubes, falls, etc) and lasted 8 months (it fell off the window). I'd say they are quite durable, if you use the right lube and don't do anything stupid, I'd say they can last several years.

My Guhong has taken some abuse over the year i've had it. Many drops/kicks, and yesterday i was playing with my superball, it bounced off the ground, the roof and hit my guhong straight on, dropping it from my desk. still works fine. And if you do break it (meaning the core breaks and it explodes) you can always get replacement parts im sure.

I've been using me Zhanchi for a month now and it's still in mint condition. If treated properly (cleaned and relubed with lubix once a month) it should last several years.

EDIT: btw i do several hundred solves per day.

I've had my Zhanchi for several months now and it's still perfect. It has gotten gummy at times, and I just completely disassemble then reassemble and relube it. I've also dropped it a couple of times, and it's not changed a bit. On a side note the stickers are also fantastic, although I know you weren't asking about them.

@Vipervenom9 I don't know how you have the time for 100 a day, especially with your averages (no offence intended). I've been trying to start doing an Ao100 (currently at the 25 second mark) every day and it takes me 2+ hours. Although I do use the generated scrambles that take 20-30 seconds to do, and I look at other websites while cubing. I envy you. :)
