The problem for many puzzles, besides, say, the Rubik's Cube and Square-1, is that once you solve it, there really is no other challenge. It is solved, and then you solve it the same way again, and again, and again... So how do we make it fun to speedsolve puzzles that bring the same solution every time? Simple. For puzzles that can change shape, why not make a "speed-cycle"?
What is this? This "speed-cycle?"
As in Speedstacking, you will have 3 basic shapes that you need to create. Then you must bring the puzzle back to its original state. For example
1. Make a star
2. Make a square
3. Make a box
4. Solve the puzzle
This way you have a more exciting challenge. Maybe you can go into the whole spectrum of shapes a certain puzzle can create. So you could have 8-cycles, 10 cycles, or even 12 cycles.
I think this would make Speed-solving a Master Magic in competition very interesting or even a Rubik's twist- or other cool puzzles.
