Sound card+headphone question

I'm a pretty active member on Head-Fi.org and I've never heard of those headphones so I can only assume they suck (for the price.) As for <100 headphones, I can recommend the Audio Technica AD700. They have a great soundstage for FPS gaming (I assume you're looking for something gaming oriented as you call them "headsets") but are also very good for music. They're comfortable if you have a normal size head, however they are open and will leak sound (don't watch porn with them if you're trying to be discreet) and they are also quite ugly. They do lack bass impact, so if you want something with more bass (at the cost of soundstage) I'd go for the Audio Technica M50.

Off the top of my head, other sub $100 headphones to look into would be the Sennheiser HD555, Grado SR60/80, Alessandro MS-1.

You will need to get a seperate mic for them, btw.

Though I don't know much about low end sound cards, for a budget sound card I'd look into this: http://www.amazon.com/NuForce-uDAC2-HP-Black-Headphone-24bit/dp/B00442KO0Q/ref=pd_cp_e_3
