It's 2:00 in the morning and I'm watching Ralphie May on Comedy Central, and during the commercial I see this...

I had heard about this quite some time ago, and was waiting for a release. It looks fun, but from other Youtube trailers I'm not sure how much actual solving there is, it appears to be mostly mini games. But who knows, I have neither a Wii nor a DS, so I won't be able to find out personally, but from searching the threads it would appear that it's not very well known (if I'm wrong I apologize). So I figured I'd give a heads up.

I just played it. It's all right, I suppose. It's got a lot of not-really-cube-related games. It's also got a solvable 2-4 with move count and timer.

There was a DS at the UK Open with a copy of Rubik's World for people to try out. I had a play with a 3x3x3 solve and it's as intuitive as GabbaSoft and quite compelling to play. I hear there's a lot more to the game though and I will definitely be getting a copy for both my daughters (erm, and me too!)

How do you turn each layer? How do you do M' and x for example? Do you hold the stylus on the F center then drag up for x, and for M' do you drag up on the FU sticker?

I don't remember exactly and of course I didn't resort to reading the manual :) but it seemed to act exactly as GabbaSoft for slice turns (movements of stylus/mouse on cube faces) and entire cube rotations (movements of stylus/mouse outside cube). I think there might have been a "mirror" behind the cube too.

They had a DS demo at the US Open. It gave you a 3x3 pattern and you had to replicate it on the cube. Most of them were simple 2-4 move turns, but it looks like they might get more complex later.

Looking at the videos on the web, the "Shoot the cube to knock down the structure" might be one of the more "not thinking" games, but the other ones are really puzzle games.

I'll be getting it for Christmas.

I'm debating on if I should get the Wii or DS version of this game (I'm leaning towards DS). It looks fun. Does anyone know if it has any online play? It would be fun to compete against some cubers on the mini games.
