Hey, I'm fairly new to cubing. I started out with layers, then sort of fridrich. Im trying to get into a full fridrich method.I've been searching around for OLL and PLL that suit me, but have yet to find some. I tried Dan Hariss' but, to many algorithms that don't work/typos. I know there are some on this site, and I've looked through a few, but haven't really found them to my liking so far. Any websites would be appreciated.

Thanks

Yes. I have to agree with ExoCorsair here. I myself learned all of Dan Harris's olls and plls except for some. At first, I also thought there were typos, but if you go slowly and execute them rather than executing them with speed, you will find that they are correct.

I think someone people's notation is different to others... one of the PLLs on this site, if i execute it slowly, i just end up with a scrambled cube. I can't remember which one it was at this stage, but it had a few X and Y rotations that i think were wrong.

Yeah, it's possible that your notation is slightly different to that on Dan Harris' site. This can however, be easily corrected. All you have to do is give cubestation another try, but this time instead of just looking at the notation, study how the Java cubes rotate as well.

true i havent been through every alg, but heres the last one i found to not work properly. i got it to work with obvious moves but still. I know i should be using intuitive F2L but i got frustrated so tried this. F2L case#24 d'L'UL
http://www.cosine-systems.com/cubestation/cs2/images/3x3x3/cfop/f2l/24.png

easy enough to do on your own i kno, but just an example. most of his work, but they just dont suit me, they seem, iunno, awkward to me i guess, hard to explain. he also has some solutions that have very complicated algorithms, which i can do using easier ones. i cant quite remember which ones so you'll have to take my word for it:D:D

anyway still looking, and need any help with intuitive F2L, cuz im not the greatest problem solver, and im having a bit of trouble.

also, it isnt really necessary to know the G permutation of PLL is it, i mean, i dont think ive ever come across a situation where i could have used it, thought i didnt check because i can barely tell where everything moeves:p

I just checked the alg that i thought was wrong... and it was just my interpretation of the notation that was wrong. Doh!

Dan Harris' site also includes the probability of the permutation occuring. It states on the site that 'G Permutations' have a 1/18 chance of occuring. Where as both 'N Permutations' and the 'H Permutation' have a 1/72 chance of occuring. (You should probably try learing all of the algorithms that have a 1/18 chance of occuring first.)

Yeah, lots of time at Dan's site some alg starts with R U R' U y', or something similar, and at least for me, I've done R U R' U' y' too many times and thus scrambled the cube good untill I start to realize that the rest of the alg is not going to make it good again :D:p

ok any advice on which OLL's to memorize first besides all the 1/54 which is like nearly all of them lol. the only ones i have down pat atm are F U R U' R' F', F R U R' U' F', bowtie l' U' L' U R U' L U, and superman-ish l' U' L U R U' r' F
its only 4 but i get by. and ive given up on my intuitiveness for F2L lol, i suck at it, even though everyone says its so simple.

indeed he did help thank you. and i basically have memorized all the edges flipped correctly, just from seeing what patterns come up most. anyway thanks a lot

For OLL- http://www.cubezone.be/oll.html
For PLL- http://www.cubezone.be/pll.html

Make sure you check out http://www.speedcubing.com/. They have a list of algorithms. From F2L to PLL and OLL. They even have links to other cubing sites that are bound to help you search for the algorithms you need.

Actually, learning the G permutations are important. They really don't take that long to execute and it's quite easy to memorize.

memorizing G is not hard, but it's not necessary. if it isn't wanted. if you can do the A and U under 2 secs then the time is about the same, i avg 3.2 for Gs and under 2 for both A and U maybe half a second difference.

i believe learning N is more important because if you don't know it, it takes a couple or 3 algorithms to solve it.
