Disturbing information has reached us from environment of the WCA Delegates. Yesterday, in unspecified circumstances, Olivier Perge ceased to function as a board member of WCA. The information was officially announced by the president of the WCA, Ron Van Bruchem. For us it is sad, but at the same time disturbing information, because Oliver Perge years enjoyed great respect of the international community. Among other things, his merit is to restore the quality of Polish Speedcubing in 2013-2014. Explanations of WCA board are extremely enigmatic. They point to the "internal incidents and misunderstandings" ...

Oliver almost immediately took a position indicating that the whole process was unworthy of the WCA Regulations, and without the possibility of discussion. Both the message WCA as well as the position of Oliver Perge awakened great confusion in the environment WCA delegates. The coming days will bring new facts in this case.[/quote]

This post is actually quite distressing from a delegates point of view. I would not expect a delegate to release any information further than "Olivér is no longer a WCA Board member" at this stage. Of course all of the delegates have been informed, but we do not know much about this right now. Of course anyone could have visited the WCA Delegates page on the website and figure out for themselves that Olivér is no longer listed as a board member but only a delegate, this information was not meant to be private, so I believe this is shareable knowledge.

However, my advice to everyone would be to wait for an official post on the subject from the board themselves. Before this post by Adam Polkowski, I would have also said wait for a delegate to give some information when we are allowed to share it. It may be the translation, but it may just be poor wording, but the second paragraph is not factually correct from the information we have been given in the delegates discussion.

I don't want to share any more than this, however to reiterate, we barely know anything more than this ourselves. I am sharing as much as I feel comfortable sharing, and it is already a majority of the information available to the delegates. There may or may not be a statement on it in the future, we don't know. For now, I highly suggest accepting the situation as it stands.
