Hello everyone!

I'd like to introduce myself to the forum, I finally decided to register :)

My name, as you may have noticed, is Nilsibert(Real name is Nils). I'm 24 Years old and live in Switzerland.

A little bit of cubing history if anyone's interested: I always had rubiks cubes since I was little, but was never able to solve more than one layer. At the age of about 16 I really wanted to be able to solve the whole thing, so I learned it with the help of the internet. As I later realised, I used probably the most stupid version of a beginners method one can imagine. Maybe I'll make a video about it because it's pretty ridiculous I think ;)
I never tried to improve anything and stopped caring about it pretty quick, I even forgot how to do it at one point.

So in december of 2012 I became interested in speedcubing, although I don't exactly remember why. I bought a Zhanchi and started to learn CFOP. I became better at it and currently I average about 25s. I use cross on white. 1.5look OLL( I know about 30 of them) and full PLL, I never learned 2Look PLL. Right now I'm trying to learn look ahead, which I never gave a shot at before.
I also quickly became interested in 4x4 and 5x5. 4x4 takes me about 2-2.5 minutes using Yau and 5x5 I never timed myself, but I suck at it. 2x2 I haven't really gotten to, but I'll learn ortega in the future.

It took me a while to register for two reasons: The first one is that I'm a type of person that switches interests in things pretty quickly; I'll get obsessed with a thing, and after a little while I forget about it. That's why I own about 10 video game consoles right now that I don't care for anymore. I thought that I would lose interest in speedcubing after a while, but to my surprise, I'm more obsessed with it than I ever was. :) the second reason is that I actually have a question, which I'll make a thread about in case I can't find anything regarding it through the search engine.

But enough talk, just wanted to say hello and that I'm happy to be a part of this wonderful forum :) And if I made lots of errors in this post, I apologize, I just wrote what came to my mind :)

So yeah, have a nice day, let's keep the community growing :)

Greetings

Nilsibert

wow your cubing history sounds a lot like mine. in fact it's too similar.

anyway welcome and it's great that you can learn everything by yourself without too much assistance, plus 25s average is awesome. if you focus hard on look ahead then with time there's no way you couldn't be sub-15.

Thanks for the welcome!

Well I learned F2l intuitively, but I watched quite a few youtube videos for better solutions to some cases. But thanks for the compliment! Sub-15 is a dream right now, but I hope I'll get there eventually, your post gives me confidence that I can do it :)

E wunderschöös Grüezi!

I'm Stefan Huber from Austria and I live in Zurich.

There's quite a few cubers around here. Switzerland doesn't have a community comparable to, say, Vienna, but we try to make it :P We sometimes go to competitions together. If you want to join the "contact circle", just send me a message.
