Hey
My name is Adam and I'm 16. But anyway...

I live in England, and I've noticed that there isn't a lot of competitions around here.
I live around Cambridge, and the only competitions are in Bristol or Manchester at the moment, to be honest. Therefore I have to travel a long distance.
I was always dreaming of Cambridge Open or somewhere else in the East Anglia.
Anyway, as I am in Year 11 and I am doing Leisure and Tourism for my GCSEs, we went on the educational trip to Newmarket.
Newmarket is called a home of horse racing, due to its history and contribution.
They have a really nice, big facility which, let's be honest, amazed me to pieces.
My task for Leisure and Tourism is to 'design an event which will help Newmarket get more customers and become more famous.'
So basically i need to think of a way of promoting Newmarket.
As a Rubik's Cube geek, the first think in my head - Newmarket Open?
As their facility is mainly empty, and they're not getting profit from it, they need something new.

Of course, it is only my GCSE work and I'm not planning to create a competition here, due to my age and they money i don't have.

But my question is (Charlie Copper, Dan Harris, please help? :D ) how do I organize event like this. How much money would I need? How is it all planned? How are you getting the facilities?
All your answers will help me A LOT with my GCSE work :)
So thank you very much already for all of your contribution! :)

Oh, and sorry for the catchy title. Had to grab attention ;)

At first I was like
" Oh, not another nob who wants someone to make a comp in their town."
But, I get what you mean now. I hope you can do this!

Yeah, i didn't want people to get that impression :L
I realize how hard it must be to organize an event like that (Y)

But...but...

That's in the South!

South-East ;) :P

Now you've made me all nostalgic. I lived in Newmarket for four years when my dad was stationed at RAF Mildenhall. I used to bike through Ely and we got kicked out of the Kings Arms for being underage. :-)

Hope you can get this organized, I wish I could come. :-)
