I have a mini moyu 4x4 Auso and it just keeps popping. I've played with the tensions and lubes but i can't seem to figure out why. I think it could be a) I have awful turning, b) I have larger hands and that is messing with the internal mech or c) something else i haven't thought of. I don't really want to buy a new 4x4 though. Any tips on keeping this from happening?

I'm having basically the same problem on my full-size Aosu. If I loosen it the inner pieces pop and jam, and if I tighten it enough that it doesn't do that then the outside layers are beautiful but the inner layers are incredibly sluggish, especially slice moves. I think the whole thing is lubed with Cubicle weight 1, but I might have put some weight 3 in there. A and B from Animorpher13 are true of me as well, has anybody come up with something for C?

On a related note, does anybody have both stickered and stickerless versions of the Aosu to compare? I'm wondering if that might be significant. Mine is stickerless. I typically run 3-4 minutes for 4x4, so I don't get a ton of solves in. I would guess maybe 200-250 on this cube. Maybe I just need to run tighter tensions and break it in more?

I've had both the Aosu and mini Aosu and they both pop. The regular Aosu more so than the mini. It is not uncommon to have the small internal pieces go shooting out at speed. I've tried tensioning with little change. The only thing that helps is to be more precise with turning, but when trying to go faster it is difficult sometimes.

I recently got a MeiYu, first batch, and it is IMO better than the Aosu (and cheaper) It turns really nicely and is more forgiving with non precise turns. Having said that though it has exploded on me twice in around 150 solves, both while I was busy on a PLL and was rushing to finish

Thanks! I'm inclined to mod or lube puzzles that I have, rather than spending money on upgraded puzzles. I'm thinking I might try doing 100 solves learning Yao, and see if it's just not broken in enough, then maybe mess with lube.

When mine pops it's not all that violent, although I'm not turning that fast either. It's usually just one of the small inner pieces that turns sideways, and I can very carefully and slowly finish the solve without it, remove a few pieces, and fit the one back in.

Well, I got same problem, but I came up with great solution!
Don't solve it anymore!!

That is an elegant solution, I grant. I just really want to get under 2 minutes, and I'm not going to cut 3+ minutes off my time without solving it a few times.:-)
