I bought a Moyu 5x5 AoChuang when it came out. Not too long afterwards (at least that's how it seemed to me) they revised the design and made the HuaChuang.

I'm thinking of buying the Cubic AoFu GT. I don't want to buy it if there's going to be a revision due to some issues that it has.

So far I haven't heard of any issues with the Cubic AoFu GT like there were with the AoChuang that warranted a remedy, and it seems like it'd be awfully expensive for Moyu to put out a revision so soon of a new 7x7, which had to have cost a lot in terms of R&D to begin with.

Regardless, what do you guys think (what have you guys heard) about the Cubic AoFu GT? Do you think I'm safe to buy one, at least for a year or so?

I realize that I'm pretty much asking for pure speculation on your part, but it's not like I'm going to be putting money on the stock market based on your advice.

I'm simply asking for opinions. :)

I think you answered most of your question yourself. There seems to be a popping issue with the center pieces that can be fixed by tightening and turning more accurately, but I don't know if that can be fixed by changing parts of the mechanism. It is pure speculation as you mentioned.

There was about a year in between the original Aofu and the Cubic one... so I think you're pretty safe.

The cube is great, though. I think you'll be pleased. It DOES have an issue with popping... for me it's the Middle Outer Edge (white arrow from this link http://thecubicle.us/replacement-parts-p-5087.html). During fast turning it can fly out, and it's a pain to get back in. It only ever seems to be that piece. So whenever that happened, I'd just tighten that side by about a 16th of a turn at a time. After a while, it just stopped happening. The cube feels a little tight for my liking, now... but you get used to that.
