Hey guys,
I actually haven’t done any speedcubing in a few years, but my little cousin is getting into it a bit, and is buying a bunch of cubes. To be honest, I don’t think he can even solve one yet, he just finds them cool, and recently had a cube themed birthday party.
He watches a YouTuber called Soup Timmy, who I’ve seen periodically.
He bought on speed cube shop the Soup Timmy custom cube (which is just a Moyu WRM v10 with certain out of box specs), I wanted to ask about any differences you guys know between certain cubes?
So when I was speedcubing, I used the Moyu Weilong GTS2 until the Moyu Weilong GTS3M came out, which became my main cube.
I looked up some stuff and saw that the GTS3M is just a bit bigger because of the ridges (which I like, since I’m 6’5 and don’t have the greatest hand-eye coordination, so more grip is better for me).
I see that the magnet structure is the same basic structure, but I’m curious if there are any other differences between the GTS3M and the WRM V10.
Also I are there any major differences between the WRM V10 and the WRM V11?
And finally, for the Soup Timmy Cube version of the V10, I see that it costs like $26 instead of $15, and that makes a little bit of sense, since each sale gives $3 to Soup Timmy, and then also there is I guess a special lubricant configuration that is used on it that isn’t usually used for that cube, so that probably adds a few dollars for the actual material, but then I saw that it is out of the box configured at the tension level 2, which I’m not sure if that matters much. I was wondering what the typical out of the box tension level is for the standard v10, or is it not standardized, and instead have some distribution around the center of the 8 tension levels?
Also, if anyone has gotten the Soup Timmy cube, have you noticed it being very slippery because of too much lubricant, or did my cousin just add more himself and now it’s slippery?
And lastly, what are your guys personal opinions on each cube, the GTS3M vs WRM v10 vs WRM v11 vs WRM v10 (Soup Timmy Config)?
