Starting from 2026, dual rounds and bo5 would be implemented.

If the organizers wishes to keep dual round for 3blind, a competitor only needs to get 1/10 success. It means the competitor can afford to do 9 DNFs which is absurd.

This can lead to misuse where competitors become so risk free that they memorize only partial parts of the cube and do guess work to get a faster time at the cost of accuracy.

I’m not big into blind, but how would this make anyone better? Couldn’t this be used in the current system but be 5 solves instead of 9? Wouldn’t this also put someone at a VAST disability anyway, throwing away most chances at a good solve? Unless I’m completely misunderstanding something, i don’t see how this will be an issue.

But does it matter? It makes the event more accessible to more people, so as long as people are having fun and enjoying the event and the "competition experience", why should you ruin that?
