Solved my first megaminx yesterday. It was fun. Purely intuitive. I never thought it would be so easy. It took 1:20:20 on the gelatin brain applet. I'm not so good with the controls. Today, I tried again and got 20 minutes. I think after a few more times, I can get sub-10 on a real one.

My method:
Solve cross. Insert corners. Insert edges using equivalent of RURURU'R'U'R' on 3x3. Sometimes, when it is easy. I just solve it like F2L.

For LL, I had some trouble. I tried to do OLL, PLL, but it didn't work. So now my method is. FURU'R'F' to orient LL edges. T perm to permutate edges. The odd thing is that it is a 3 cycle of edges and corners. Then, I just used the obvious commutators to cycle corners. Then orient them.
Is there a faster way to do any of the steps?

I orient all edges and sometimes place them using the last empty "f2l" slot. If I need to, I use sunes to cycle edges in the LL. Then orient and place the corners with commutators, sometimes separate sometimes together.

I only solve 5x5 once and megaminx twice. Now I'm attempting the gigaminx. Crazy, right?
2nd time with megaminx, it was much faster, I got 20min. Sub-10 should be easily possible with a real one. The computer controls suck.
I just got all the centers one the gigaminx after 1:20. Edges...
Is there a parity one the gigaminx?

There's no parity on the gigaminx. It's like a 5x5 version if the mega was a 3x3. The impossiball is equivalent to the 2x2. There's a 4x4 version too, but it hasn't been produced, probably for the same reason as the gigaminx. (I know there's a couple of giga's around).

I think I'll just stick with the simulator. :)
The real one is probably really expensive.
I'm almost done with the edges! I bet pairing up the last few would be a pain. I'll try to see how I can convert 5x5 algs to it. I hope I can finish under 2 and half hours.
