Maru 4x4 and guhong help

I don't really practice 4x4 much compared to my 3x3 and 2x2 but nonetheless I have a maru 4x4. I average 3 min so I haven't solved it slot but I lubed it with maru lube yet I feel it's just plain slow and not as smooth as others I've seen on YouTube. Next my normal guhong is good yet it can't cut corners nearly as good as my ultimate what should I do to solve these problems. ( the guhong is broken in and lubes in the core with lubix)

Did you do the edge mod on your normal guhong?
