On the 2x2x2 methods wiki page, it lists a method called "js2", but links to a non-existent page. I tried searching around, but can't find any information about this method. Does it actually exist, and if so, could someone explain it?

I've actually found quite a lot of references to in (+20) but I've never been able to find a tutorial, or even a breakdown. I'm really interested in this, and have been for quite a while.

Oh. I remember this. Some person submitted an extremely bad write-up of a very bad method, and named it after himself. There was a 4x4 one too. Honestly, the method was pretty bad and the grammar of the write-up was way worse - my first response was basically "wtf is this". I deleted it and removed most of the links, but I guess I missed that one.

I've been wondering about this for a while. My initials are "JS", but it's not my pages...

So, three pieces of a face (one color), orient remaining corners, and finally, insert the fourth corner of the first layer while permuting the top and bottom layers?

The 2x2x2 method doesn't seem completely terrible really. The only negative I see is the amount of half turns for the final step. Also for that last step, you would probably have to have some kind of special recognition style to know what case you have, unless you want to do at least most of it intuitively; costing more moves.

Yea, the only problem I see is with the first step. Solving 3/4 with only 1 side pair, not 2 or 0. I doubt this would be a very fast main method, but as an alternative to CLL when it's too hard to make the first layer.

Actually, most 2X2X2 ideas were thought of before Erik showed them as his ideas. He just gets credit for them because he put a name on them and because he has a great amount of popularity in the community.

Basically like ortega but instead of making a face, you only make 3/4 of a face and then learn loads more algs?

Not really, because the permutation of the 3/4 face has to be a certain way, in Ortega it doesn't matter. Similar concept though. I think I'll stick to Ortega/CLL.
