Is Fridrich F2L easy to get used to?

This method doesn't seem very efficient.

1. This can be done faster if you just use 3 different algorithms to flip edges, so it's only one look.

2. The 2x2x2 (2x2x3, too) block can be made much more efficiently than putting two cross pieces in first. In most cases it's faster to make a square on one side, then insert the edge between the two centers, I think.

Also if you don't make a cross, the edges you're looking for can be in the D layer, making you do some rotations to look for them sometimes.

It's not really block building, it's just delaying the cross.

1. When I said two seconds, I was talkining worst case scenario (when there isn't a straight line or an L shape that should be held in the upper left corner. This algorithm needs to be repeated twice and sometimes three times. If done three times (it will take about 2 seconds).

Like what was said above me, this is terrible if you're going for speed.
You might as well just use repeated Sunes for corners-OLL.
Look up the first-step of 2-Look OLL, edge orientation for a better way of dealing with this.

Also, with a bit of edge-control in the last slot, like sledgehammers, you can avoid the dreaded "dot case", only having to deal with the "straight line" or "L shape" cases, both easily solvable in under a second.

2. I make half of the cross on the bottom next to one another and then fill in the empty slot. This can be observed during the 15 seconds prior to your solve. This will build a 2x2x2 block.
Why do it that way then... that's just Fridrich without doing the whole cross, which is a waste since you can do it in 8 moves or less, completely pre-planned in the 15 sec. inspection time.

I suggest you look again at the block-building examples on Petrus' site, and even on Roux' site, and familiarize yourself with what the advantages of real block-building are.
