Hello everyone,

I'm TwistySimp and I would like to share a website i made YouCube.App
Pls try out some demo simulator i made
Skewb Panorama
2x2x2 Earth
3x3x3 Cube

The rest of the website is just me posting other apps and making various puzzles from them and maybe soon anyone
can upload and post their own simulator or puzzle definations or just sticker images there.

I have tested the website on Windows(best), Android(some puzzle not yet optimised) and old Iphone7(mostly not playable because unable to fullscreen).

Tell me if this is playable on your device or you can request puzzles or give app ideas here.

Thank you and have fun.

Hi TwistySimp,

I am loving that site, thank you for making it. Glad to see it back online (after it was off last year for some time).

As for AnimCubeJS, could you please upgrade to the latest source files to improve user experience on mobile devices? Edit: oh, I just noticed scrolling is not an issue anymore on my Android phone if full screen is set (yet it shouldn't be an issue by default).

P.S. AnimCubeJS Custom Puzzle is now available at https://animcubejs.cubing.net/sources/codes/enhancement/parameters/config_tool.html :), but I am impressed how you made all those modifications for all simulators.

Hi bcube,

Glad you like the website. Surprised you were able to discover it previously. This is my 1st time sharing this website. It used to be hosted on google cloud server but was quite expensive therefor cancelled the service then.

Recent Vision Pro hype reminded me of this project so i recover it from my backups. My simulator used to be able to view in VR using google glasses, i think recent updates might have broken that feature and need to be fixed.
As for your AnimCubeJS updates, i will download and deploy after some testing.

Great software by the way. My Random 9 color sudoku is actually the oldest thing i made on the website and i also want to use your software for algorithm sections soon. I tried to look at your codes(among others) to see how u control the puzzle by dragging and snaping but still couldn't figure out.

Well I still have a lot of improvement to make(website & software) but i decided to share this while still in progress.

Hi,

The how to for using my 3x3x3 Cube @ https://youcube.app/?p=376

Controls for movement
(Computer)
Method 1,
-left click on face to turn the face anti-clockwise
-right click clockwise
-scroll wheel for zoom
-drag background to rotate

Method 2
-key '1' will always turn blue face anti-clockwise and 'shift+1' clockwise
-key '2' turns green face anti-clockwise and 'shift+2' clockwise
-key '3' turns red face anti-clockwise and 'shift+3' clockwise
-key '4' turns orange face anti-clockwise and 'shift+4' clockwise
-key '5' turns yellow face anti-clockwise and 'shift+5' clockwise
-key '6' turns white face anti-clockwise and 'shift+6' clockwise

Method 3
press '+' for crosshair/helper
Depending on rotation
-key 'f' for front face anti-clockwise, 'shift+f' clockwise
-key 'b' for back face
-key 'r' for right face
-key 'l' for left face
-key 'u' for up face
-key 'd' for down face
(Might change to better key bindings)

Method 4
press '+' for crosshair/helper
for whichever face is on the center or crosshair
-key 'q' for anti-clockwise rotation
-key 'w' for clockwise rotation
(i use this most often together with left click hold)

Other Shortcuts for Computer
-key '-' show/hide axes
-key '[' sphere/cube
-key ']' inside/outside
-key '|' scramble
-key ';' reload page
-key ''' fullscreen toggle
-arrow keys rotate puzzle (not working properly)

(Mobile touchscreens)
Method 1
-swipe right on face to rotate clockwise
-swipe left for anti-clockwise
-pinch in/out zoom

Method 2
-click "C+Buttons"
-touch right button to turn clockwise left anti-clockwise
-turning face will be whichever face is under the crosshair

I haven´t been coding anything, I am only involved as a tester / documentation co-author / functionality proposer in the AnimCubeJS project. Feel free to ask on github if you want to modify the programs and something is not clear to you, the programmer - Michael Feather - could answer you there.

The how to for using my 3x3x3 Cube @ https://youcube.app/?p=376

If you are taking suggestions for improvement, here are mine:
  1. allow inner layer turns, if possible
  2. on FF desktop and Windows, scroll wheel will also scroll the page (which I suspect is not what you wanted)
  3. on FF desktop and Windows, when refreshing the page (I tried ctrl + R and hitting the Refresh button in the browser), the simulator won´t load again

Thank you for the invite and suggestions, i should have allow slice turn and also 2layer turn. Will add it soon on that same page or i might make another copy/post of it. The scrolling issue should be because of the theme i used and i will try find a way to make the puzzle part sticky. For now all puzzle should be used in fullscreen mode.

Recently i have updated some CSS to use on mobile landscape and portrait mode. Added some more puzzles on the site also.

Another issue for https://youcube.app/?p=376 is that on Android phone, I can't rotate a layer at all, only the whole cube can be rotated.
Hi,
For touchscreens, single tap won't turn the faces, u have to swipe right or left starting from the face to turn.
I added another method for touchscreen using 2 buttons to turn.

pls make it playable for kfc ice cream machine and samsung smartfridge
 Somehow this quote gave me an a idea maybe i should add gamepad support and smartcube sync.

That's what I did :). Still can't rotate a single layer by swiping on Samsung phone.
I did the swipe function manually but adjustable. Previously each swipe had to travel 100px, angle cannot be more than 100px up/down within 200ms.
So i just changed it to travel mindistance=50px, up/down=300px time=300ms.
Also find that on older phones, frame rate drops and the lagging causes difficulty in swiping detection.

There is also a newer version of 3x3x3 here https://youcube.app/?p=5044
This version can change stickering from a list or upload your own + other functions like adjusting fov or view in different sphere formula.

Image upload should be 4:3 format png/jpg
Example sticker

There are other cubes and cuboids in the same category. https://youcube.app/?cat=9
I recommend trying to solve from 'inside' the puzzle on easier cuboids like 3x3x1 to get used to the perspective.

Some images from the category -

inside sphere high fov.png
inside cuboid high fov.png

OK, I managed to turn layers by swiping now :-). Rather than swiping up/down I use swiping left/right.

Hi bcube,

Thank you for the suggestions again. I am going to add more puzzle soon from this app. I had tried it unsuccessfully before and and just now finally got it to work. (Their sample html code samples have spelling errors "TiwstyPuzzle" instead of "TwistyPuzzle")

Anyway im TwistySimp because i saw Twistysim already taken then. :p

Hi,

https://youcube.app/?cat=258

I made a general puzzle maker uSphere. Right now works on faster computers. Working on a form page to input cuts, for now try some deep-cut puzzles i posted.

Main feature is that a puzzle could be played on various shapes. eg when 2x2x2 cuts loaded, u can transform into sphere, cube or dodecahedron etc.
Stickering could be changed as well from right menu.

The website is pwa enabled ie. can be install as app on android and windows from browser menu.
