Have you seen someone post their PB single in Discord or the Forums, but don't know what event they got PB on? If they provided the scrambles, it can be quite easy to know what event they did.

I will be including all WCA events plus FTO for good measure.

Events with very unique scrambles

Clock: If it includes stuff like UR0+ DR2- DL4-, you can easily tell it is clock.
Square-1: If it looks like this with brackets and numbers, ((0,2)/ (-3,0)/ (3,0)/), it is Square-1
Megaminx: If it there is a string of Rs and Ds with -- or ++ after them, it is Megaminx (R-- D++ R++ D++)
MBLD: If there are multiple scrambles, it is Multi-Blind. (Will also have Rw or something at the end of each scramble, a feature shared with other BLD events)

NxNs:
2x2: The scramble will only feature R, U, and F moves.
3x3: The scramble will have 2x2 moves plus D, B, and L.
4x4: Same as 3x3 but adding Rw, Uw, and Fw.
5x5: Same as 4x4 but adding Lw, Dw, and Bw.
6x6: Same as 5x5 but adding 3Rw, 3Uw, and 3Fw
7x7: Same as 6x6 but adding 3Lw, 3Dw, and 3Bw

3x3 Variants:
OH: There is no difference between 3x3 and OH, you may need to ask the person sharing the PB which event they did if you are unsure.
FMC: Will always include R' U' F at the front and end of each scramble
3BLD: There will be wide moves at the end to randomize the orientation of the puzzle before the solve

BLD events:
3BLD: Already covered
MBLD: Already covered
4BLD: 4x4 scrams but with rotations like x and y' at the end.
5BLD: 5x5 scrams, but with 3Wide moves at the end.

Other events:
Pyraminx and Skewb: They have very similar scrambles as they both have R, U, L, and B moves in their scrambles without double turns. The only difference is the Pyraminx will have r, l, etc for the tips. For the 1/81 chance the pyraminx scramble does not have tips, you will also find pyra scrams are slightly longer.
FTO: similar to 3x3 but longer and with BL and BR turns. Also will not have double turns.

In case if you wanted to know what FTO is.
