When I became interested in solving rubik's cube, my dad brought his old cube that he had. So over the course me learning how to makimg the cube faster, I started lubricating my cubes with CRC. When I showed my dad how smooth my cubes were, he tried it. What he did not know however, is that when the CRC is drying it dissolves the cube temperarily dissolves the cube which is why you take the cube apart. What makes this even more of a debacle is that the plastic they used back then reacts with CRC much like jig-a-loo does. So now alot of the peices are pitted as if put in acid. I would like to know how to fix the cube with out buying new pieces becuase the cube is valuable.

Fill in the pits. Sand smooth.

The pits aren't that deep. Sort of like tiny bubbles in the plastic. So It's not ruined becuase even with the pits it still turns better due to the CRC. I just think that without the pits, it could turn just as good as my 2008 lubed rubiks cube. Here is what I have one hand.
Sand paper up to 1200 grit
buffing polish which works on plastic
and future access to goof-off which I know gently removes the surface of the plastic (sticker residue removal experiment)

I would think since you have done it before, that you should have done it. Not like this advise is useful now :P Would you mind taking some pictures?

My dad did it without my consent. I'll try to get you a picture, but It will be a little while since I don't have access to one at the moment.
