I have access to 3D printing and have done a lot of organizing and delegating in the past without using any fancy equipment or being neat about my gear.

I want to take a systematic approach now and list out in the year 2025, what all list of gear can be 3D printed?

On the top of my mind, my list goes,
  • Cube covers
  • Tournament display compact table mount stands
  • Square-1 + Clock custom designed covers

Optional things to 3D print which is not necessary to run a competition:
  • O-rings for G4 timers (everyone uses G5, so this is not a concern)
  • Cube station place-cards
  • Stopwatch holder
  • Harmonica holder (although I think amazon bought ones would be sturdier than 3D printed ones)
  • MBLD scrambled cubes covering box (although a cloth is a much simpler solution)

There used to be a WCA Gear team in the past https://www.worldcubeassociation.org/teams-committees#wmt which no longer exists. So, I do not think we need to bring this point across to anyone from the past gear team.
https://documents.worldcubeassociation.org/edudoc/competition-templates/competition-templates.pdf document exists on the WCA site on how to print 2D and 3D stuff but I think this document is incomplete.

Please let me know if more stuff of the competition gear could be 3D printed currently or in the future?
For example, 3D printing tables of custom height is not a far-fetched idea as few companies have already started making civil structures using 3D printed parts.

The problem is almost everything you can 3D print that does not require an intricate shape you can make better and cheaper with other materials. For cube covers, they can easily and cheaply be printed from cardstock. TheCubicle sells them for $4 but they can be made for pennies on the dollar.
