I know some people use Iphones to film at higher frame rates but I wondered if anyone here used proper cameras to make really good slow motion videos. If so then what editing software do you use?

Hi Tony. i have recently been usng high speed filming in a cubing video. Specifically the action of the GAN 11 M PRO. The high speed makes it much more obvious how the cube is turning, and in this particular cube shows off it's very long range correction capabilites.
I have two cameras now. My first one was a panasonic GH5 with various prime lenses (which i first got for my main non cubing channel - i was originally using a smartphone or USB webcam), but i was having difficultly in low light conditions of my workshop (the GH5 has a MFT sensor that is quite small - so not great at gathering shots in low light).
The newer camera is a Full frame video centric Sony. It's an A7siii. The larger sensor (full frame) means the lenses are much bigger (and proportionally hideously expensive), but this camera body can shoot at 240 fps. This is not that fast in slomo terms but for cubing, luckily i think it's plenty.
You can see the results of the slomo footage here on my most recent video:

(the above video was shot with the sony a7siii)

the flicker in the first few seconds was because i hadn't worked out yet the frequency of my fluroescent lighting. The rest of it was shot with LED lights i made myself, that do not use pulsing as a way to dim them - so there is no flicker.

All my older videos were shot with a GH5

I use Adobe Premier Pro for editing. It's pretty buggy and if i had to start over again i might try the free Davinchi resolve instead. Especially as i spend all my money on camera gear and cubes which leaves me nothing for computer upgrades! I shoot in 4k when at regualar speed - which is pretty computer taxing, but the high speed 240fps stuff is only at 1080p which is easy to edit. I can shoot slower in 4k with sound even (which is really cool sounding!) at 120fps but the gargantuan bitrate involved for that has meant i've had to almost remortage my house just to buy an SD card that can take that much info being written to it! There is one more even higher bitrate mode that i just cannot justify/afford to buy an even more speciallized SD card for.

Incidentally the GH5 which is much cheaper and has lenses that are much cheeper too can take shots at 180fps which is amazing considering it's cost. But the small sensor and high frame rate means the subject has to be very well lit to see it nicley. Outdoor shots are fine. Indoor requres great lighting at 180fps (on the GH5)

Also i LOVE your giant cube :) so cool!!!
