Hi! I am Trevor, I live in Wichita Kansas, and am a sophomore at East High. I started cubing in 6th grade but stopped within a few months. I picked it back up randomly a few months ago and am so much more involved in it than I ever was. I'm down to a 39 average with a 26 pb. I use Petrus for F2l then 2Look OLL and PLL. I just got a Dayan Guhong the other day and I love it. I, along with a few of my friends are in the process of establishing a Rubik's Cube club at my school so I felt like I needed to join the community!

Nice to meet you! I like Petrus F2L alot, but I'm so slow with it (I use CFOP as my main). >.< Good to see a Petrus user! :tu

This is weird. I now know 4 Trevors who cube, 2 of which are on this forum (You and Trevor Mahoney)

Welcome to the forums! Nice to see another Petrus user on speedsolving.

Hey, and good luck with the club! I made a club at school with one other friend who can solve (averages about a minute, maybe a little less), and so far, one person can solve it (After only 2-3 meets, although he went ahead). The biggest thing you have to realize is that everyone you teach (assuming that's what you will do in the club) will learn and comprehend everything at a completely different pace. For my club, we printed out this tutorial, and gave it out to everyone who had a cube at home. Next meet (Wednesday), anyone with $5 will get ordered a cube online. So good luck, and welcome to the forums!

Definitely look at this thread for help, and try not to post many threads (This thread is good, and I'm glad you made it).

Thanks, at my school you have to have a faculty sponsor to be an actually club, we got our calc teacher because he is extremely interested in group theory. And yeah, we were planning on teaching and discussing. Thank you for the advice and links, the how to be a good member thread is sent to every new member now upon registration btw.

For the faculty teacher, we have the same, except my teacher helping is the challenge/gifted teacher. A really cool thing we are planning to do, is to make cube mosaics. You can apply to be sent 100 or 225 cubes for free (You pay shipping though), as long as you return it (shipping, again, for returning). But we got 225 cubes shipped to us in boxes to the school, which we use for the club. When everyone learns, we are going to make the mosaics. Also, feel free to PM me if you have any questions. I'd be glad to help. :)

Oh really? That's good, I guess.
