Hi everyone. I've been lurking these forums for a while, and figured now was a good time to introduce myself. Anyway, about me and cubing:
I solved a rubik's cube for the first time back in high school (10 years ago!), but never got into speed cubing until this last September. My parents were moving, so I went through all my old stuff and found my old cubes. Finding the cubes sparked my interest again, and from there, I stumbled upon badmephisto and a few others online. I bought some new cubes and I was hooked.
A few short months later, and I'm just barely sub-25 on 3x3. My main method is ZZ, though I still like to play around with other methods including color neutral CFOP, Roux, Heise, and anything else I can find.
I like solving bigger cubes as well, though I don't time myself on them too often. I've also recently been looking into blind solving. To date, I've succeeded twice (with many failures) just using Old Pochmann. It takes me about 15 minutes, and I'm just beginning to experiment with memory methods.
More personal information: You may have seen my brother, username jayefbe, who is a new member as well.
I'm currently in grad school, studying physics in Santa Barbara, but spend my weekends in Diamond Bar, California. I'd love to meet cubers in both locations.
Speaking of which, I'm going to my first competition! I'm going to the Diamond Bar spring competition April 27th, and really looking forward to it. I'll compete in 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, and 6x6. Just hoping I don't embarrass myself...
