Hey there,
My name is Philip, and I'm from Germany.
I bought my first Rubik's cube about 4 years ago (the orginal, 25th anniversary version). Back then, I got myself a tutorial from the Internet and started solving it a few times per day. But then I got bored, and my cube sat on the shelf, untouched for several years. Until the end of last year, when at a party, a guy told me that it was impossible to build a cubic 7x7 puzzle with equal sized cubies. The next day, I got my old Rubik's and started solving it again (With YouTube's help, of course
). On 12/31, I got my first sub2 solves, still with an unlubricated Rubik's original. On 01/04 (iirc), I recieved my ZhanChi. I got faster relatively quickly. I got a new PB on Monday evening (CET): 32.10, and my average is at about 45 seconds.
In the meantime, I also started doing big cubes. Right now, I'm just solving them. Maybe I'm going for speed with the 4x4 and 5x5 in two months or so. Right now, I'm focusing more on the 3x3. Here, my goal is this:
By the end of February, I want to get 3x.xx times at least semi-consistently, and I want to have a sub25 PB. I order to accomplish this, I plan to learn all 4LLL algorithms.
Greetings from Germany,
Philip
