Okay so I'm a beginner cuber.
I started cubing exactly 29 days ago, and I still use the layer method :(
I WOULD learn the fridrich method, but its very confusing. I have an okay cube and its pretty good.
My average right now is 44 seconds, but I would like some advice on how to become faster and some pros and cons to the fridrich and Lars Petrus methods.

Thanks guys,

I learned the Petrus method right after I stopped LBL...I like that one a lot. I've recently started working with Fridrich to see how I like that one instead. Both of them can be challenging if you're new to speedcubing, I'd suggest trying out a bit of both and seeing what you like best. Fridrich is generally considered faster (most of the records were set using that), but Petrus has a smaller move count and is a lot of fun as well.

I'd look up some videos on youtube for some tutorials, check some sites, and experiment to see what you like best.

Learning Friedrich

Theres a video on Youtube that I don't have time to look for now, but it explains how to make up intuitive moves based on whether the D color of your pair is different or the same. Just make up moves, and use your normal Last Layer until you get the hang of Friedrich F2L. I'm sure we can help you when you are good at that for the next step.
