Using the beginner layer by layer method I average 40 seconds. I've attempted to learn the Fridrich method sooo many times but I just don't get it. I'm looking to get faster than 40 seconds, and I know Fridrich is a way to do it.
Maybe if someone explains it I could get it?
Thanks for the help in advance

Your explanation is pretty vague. What method to your currently use? First, you need to know the steps of the Fridrich Method. It's solving the Cross, F2L, OLL, and PLL. That's a total of 119 algorithms. To the beginner, that sounds like a lot, but don't' learn the algorithms all at once. Learn them one at a time.

I would suggest learning these parts of the Fridrich Method in these steps explained on this website. (Go to the middle of the page) http://www.cubefreak.net/speedcubing.html

also this goes in the beginner section but if you want to get faster, quickly learn intuitive F2L. type in on youtube "badmephisto" and look through his vids until you see the intuitive F2L vid. first it will slow you down but then you will be able to do it cRazY fast! But there will be a dozen or so which you need to learn the alg for because it is just has far less moves.

I apologize for being so vague but that's the only way I can explain anything. The way I solve the cube is cross, middle layer edges, cross on the top, orient last layer(OLL?), the last layer corners, then position the corners(PLL?).
And all I know about Fridrich is that its faster.

Frid is faster, that's what I learn too..

I am now memorizing 4LLL, for PLL I only memorized 4 out of 21.........
For OLL, don't ask.......

forget it
i just cant get it into my head
im going to just stick to layer by layer
all fridrich is doing is frustrating me

i know it will haha
but ive watched videos
ive seen like very site out there about fridrich
and i can do one or two of the corner/edge pairs but then i cant get the rest

As long as you understand the idea, that's all that matters at this point. Just keep trying the corner edge pairs in anyway possible, don't rely on the videos. Remember you can turn the right or front face to open up to profile to put the pieces into place.

When I was first learning Fridrich I was completely lost too. I didn't understand a thing but I kept reading and rereading any Fridrich tutorial I could find and looking over examples. Trust me, you will not regret learning Fridrich and once you get it you will wish you learned it sooner. It's just so much faster and the intuitive part is more fun than LBL.

well if fridirich is giving you troubles then you should try another method like petrus or roux both very fast and less algs to learn for ll
