Hello!

I’m a beginner currently learning pyraminx, 3x3, and (when it arrives in a few hours) skewb. Even though I only started a few weeks ago, I’m really interested in experimental and novelty solving methods. I think my ultimate goal will be to push these methods to their limits, even if they aren’t always the fastest. But for now, I’m still just learning how to move blocks around the cube.

I’m not sure what method I’d like to use on 3x3 eventually. Currently learning ZZ just to get some fundamentals down. Haven’t timed myself yet though because I still don’t know enough OLL/PLL to complete a solve :/

Mostly I’ve been practicing Pyraminx. I’ve only timed myself once and got ~12 seconds with FFL. I’d like to get averages under 5 seconds eventually, but I still have a lot of practicing to do, first.

Fun facts about me: Other than cubing I play a lot of Elden Ring and am trying to reach fluency in German. I also have a friend who cubes, and I’ve been using his Pyraminx as a fidget toy for years. I guess that’s probably why I’m getting into it, now.

welcome to SS forums.

What is Elden Ring? George R. R. Martin helped in fantasy building of this game right. Is this game played competitively
It’s an open-world, fantasy game made by Japanese game studio From Software (the company behind Dark Souls, Sekiro, and Bloodborne) with some input from George R. R. Martin, who helped come up with the history and lore of the game’s setting. It’s not played competitively, but it’s definitely known for its high difficulty as well as player freedom, so it has a super active community always trying to improve at the game and beat it in new and challenging ways. There’s also a speedrunning community, which is probably more competitive, but I don’t know much about that.

Its multiplayer can also have fairly long waiting-times — especially on Xbox — so that’s usually when I practice cubing heh.
