I'm Wireframe2.
I started cubing around 3-4 years ago, but fell out of it in favor of other random hobbies. I recently decided to pick it back up again after noticing some friends of mine trying to figure out how to solve it. I quickly realized that it was going to take a lot of effort since I forgot quite a few algs, but nothing motivates me more than a challenge. I definitely want to end up with a very fast time (~10-12 seconds), but it's obviously not going to be an instant process. I am fully prepared to practice a lot, though.
The puzzles that I'm currently using:
Diansheng DIY 3x3 (lubed, slightly loosened screws)
Eastsheen 4x4 (slightly loosened screws)(this will probably date me as well, since this was brand new when I stopped cubing)
Eastsheen 5x5 (slightly tightened screws)
V-Cube 6 (slightly broken in)
V-Cube 7
Meffert's Skewb (I think)
Pyraminx (yeah, I completely forgot where I got this)
After reading a ton of material on these forums, I've realized that my current equipment is fairly old and outdated; my first step is to get a set of better puzzles. I've also never owned a 2x2.
I didn't keep averages for the larger cubes, but my old 3x3 average was around 33 seconds (long way to go before my goal, I know). Currently just trying to re-learn 2-look OLL and PLL to start, and then move on after figuring out the next step. I like to do a ton of reading and research before asking questions so I don't sound like an idiot, so here's hoping that that will keep this learning process as streamlined as possible.
In my spare time, I prefer reading, studying (I am currently a third-year university student, so this isn't so much a hobby as it is a mandatory lifestyle feature), and gaming (currently playing Borderlands 2). I'm also a fanatical autodidact and love learning new things; currently trying to teach myself Korean.
Cheers!
