i ordered a ghost hand I and its supposed to arrive soon, but ever since i ordered it ive seen so many different opinions on it
since the only other cube ive tried is a rubiks storebought, would love to know how much better is the ghost hand compared to a storebought
since everyone only talks about the zhanchi and guhongs nowadays...

the reason i cant search for this is because all the discussions i found about the cube were relatively old, which brings me to the problem im asking about >.>

you see? thats exactly my problem, im getting mixed messages here, its good yet its bad O_O
would it be good enough for me coming from a 1$ cube which is ruined (as much as possible, and no its not a storebought), my best time is around 45 seconds in the iphone app cuz my cube sucks too hard
my goal is to get to around 30-35 seconds avg, would the ghost hand suffice?

*Takes it from the shelf and plays with it a bit*

Well, the only thing that would be bad is the corner cutting I'd say, it's not that forgiving, but if you're accurate you'll have minor to no problems with speedsolving with it.
Of course it's not as fast as the newer Dayan models, but it's still pretty good; a tad bit slower than my C4U, but I haven't lubed my GH yet, I loved it out of the box and didn't want to ruin it, some kind of factory lube was in there in the start, but I can't see anything right now. (I can however feel some stickyness after one year of casual usage now and then.)

I have to say though that both my GH and GH-II came pre-lubed, but my friend got his GH-II un-lubed. It has a whole different feel from mine, even with CRC. More of a scratchy feel.
Get your hands on some kind of silicone oil to lube it, I think the stuff I got inside mine is something in those lines, and mine is smooth.

EDIT: And yes, a GH will suffice for those times, I get normal times with it. (21-25 second area)

Yes, It will suffice. I didn't get a GuHong untill I was sub 25.

Swap out the core, swap out the spring (perhaps the screw too). Corner-cutting will be as good as any Classical DIY.

The core needs to be replaced because the screw hole is not deep enough for a sufficient adjustment range, the springs because the spring rate or length is too low/small for sufficient preload when the travel limit is set for proper cornering performances.

I have one. Ghost hand one is better then nothing, but far worse than a dayan in every way. Still, turns reasonably well, not trash.

Good luck with your new cube. My first speedcube was a ShenShou (which is more or less a Ghost Hand) felt so great compared to my storebrought after I had found the perfect tension. Don't try to corner cut to much tough, it's not that pop-resistant if you have it pretty loose.

well i got it, and its pretty awesome, but then i got to try my friends zhanchi, and it does feel far better
i have another friend who needs a cube and feels the ghost hand would be enough for him so i ordered a zhanchi and im going to sell the ghosthand to him :) thanks for your help
