not my video but I thought it would be cool to share. it is the most detailed look into a cubing factory I can find, especially about the plastic molding process. (Moyu doesn't show their machines in Antoine Cantin's tour)
45 the 2x2 has yellow GES and can be switched out. has new mechanism(?) sells for 149 yuan or 30 USD.
30 they test each cube by weight. If it's off by 0.2g, the cube will be taken out to look for defects or errors.
30 the cubes are also inspected visually to make sure they look good. if the cap doesnt look good it'll be switched. the cap switched out didn't have the right shade (?) this is why GAN has better quality cubes than competitors. only 300 cubes are (something idk)
20 the stickers are visually inspected. if they are off, they are switched. they are placed on one at a time. this is why the cubes cost more than competitors, for the labor.
15 over here is fixed or unused(?) machines
00 the smart cubes go through more quality control and charging here.
30 the cubes can go through about 500 recharge cycles before the battery gets too old. for normal cube use, this is over a year, since the cube is charged once a day. after a year, other problems besides battery happen. then you buy another cube. (idk what they said after)
20 cube has to undergo app testing. the employees dont need to know how to solve the cube. (something more about learning to solve)
30 the GAN robot isn't out yet. it is sold domestically before internationally
00 (something about ordering online and shipping internationally. I think it is if international customers want to buy a few from China they can, but if they want to buy hundreds they have to wait for international release?)
40 the plastic comes in from a hopper and gets fed into the molding machine at 300 degrees (idk the details) when the piece comes out, it's a little hot
45 inspecting molds
45 (no idea. maybe making the metal molds?)
00 how long do the molds last? they need to be inspected every month (?) filmer says he thought since the molds were metal, once there were made they could be used continuously. but tour guide explains due to the 300 degree temperature and extreme pressure
00 due to the mold action of pressing down, the metal needs to be reworked
30 high pressure water cleaner to clean metal
20 machines to inspect if the molding machines made a proper plastic part (?)
00 (something about company history?)
hopefully someone who actually understands mandarin well can give a better translation. maybe @Wish Lin ?
